O`Connor, Slay top Riverhawks at NWAC Preview

LACEY, Wash. - Derek O`Connor and Savannah Slay were the top runners for Umpqua Community College`s cross country team at the NWAC Preview on Saturday at Saint Martin`s University. O`Connor, a Camas Valley product, finished 81st in the men`s 8,000-meter race in 29:47.37. Slay also finished 81st in her race. She ran the 5,000 women`s course in 23:42.83.
